That Old Blue Poly Tarp
If you have ever used a fireplace to heat your home, you know how aggravating it can be to go out and find it has started raining and your wood is drenched. Even though you put that old blue tarp you had over it!You need a good quality silver tarp to cover that wood with because it is waterproof and resistant to mildew. The poly silver tarp is used for a variety of different things like covering cars, roofs, and anything else that is out side and needs to be protected from the elements.
On the silver poly tarp, grommets are spaced 18 inches apart instead of the usual 36 inches. The UV coating is 40 micron and makes this tarp tough! The silver poly tarp is tear and acid resistant, too. Whatever you plan to cover with silver poly tarp will be well protected! The reflective silver is on both sides of the the silver poly tarp and it is also resistible to extreme cold! These tarps are what you want to cover that wood pile up with when there is a foot of snow on the ground, too!
When shopping for a good silver poly tarp, you want the weave to be as close as possible for added durability. The silver poly tarp has 14 inch polyethylene strands horizontally and vertically in a each square inch. This make for a closer weave and added light filtering qualities. The corners are reinforced with molded plastic and the grommets are rust resistant. Silver poly tarps have double stitched seams or they could have heat sealed seams for added durability. The weaving is very important when it comes to water and moisture seeping through. Look at the difference between that blue tarp you used and the new silver poly tarp. Hold them both up to the light and see which one you can see through!
A silver poly tarp weighs 6.0 oz. per square yard and has a tensile strength of 1200 denier. There are thicker silver poly tarps that have a tensile strength of 600 denier and have a 12 mil thickness. Denier is a unit of measure regarding the density of fibers like threads and the like. The closer these are woven together, the stronger the material. Compare a silver poly tarp to those that are of different colors and you will see the difference. The higher the denier measurement, the stronger the tensile strength and durability of the material. When it comes to protecting something you don't want damaged from outdooe elements, the silver poly tarp is what you need.
The silver poly tarp has a black mesh material in it that helps to reflect light and reduces how much light is filtered through the tarp. Both sides of the poly silver tarp are coated with UVI coating for the best protection from the damaging UV rays of the sun. The color silver by itself is a reflective color. The tarps out there that are different colors just aren't the same!
